Thomas Evan Archer, 74, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Lisa J. (Cornwall) Archer, who predeceased him on October 5, 2021. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late John H. and Mavis B. (Manley) Archer.
A graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School, the University of Rhode Island, and Bryant College, where he earned his MBA in Business Management, Tom enjoyed a long and successful career as a Financial Analyst and Project Manager. He worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for Bank Boston, a Project Manager for Robert Half, Inc., and later operated his own business, Archer Accounting, specializing in tax preparation. He retired in June of 2025.
Deeply committed to his faith, Tom was an active member of the Warwick Central Baptist Church, where he served as Treasurer, served on the Finance Committee, and was a longtime member of the Discipleship Team. He was a much-loved Sunday School teacher known for his creativity and humor. He also served as Treasurer of the Baptist Home of Rhode Island and the American Baptist Churches of Rhode Island.
Tom’s great passion was music. An accomplished trombonist, he played in numerous bands including the Moonlighters, the New Providence Big Band, the Meadowlarks, ROMPS (Retired Old Men Playing Swing), the Lafayette Band, the Dedham American Legion Band, and the Warwick Symphony Orchestra. He particularly loved big band jazz, swing, and classical music, and took special joy in performing with marching bands in parades throughout New England. In addition, he was an accomplished wedding photographer and volunteered weekly at the Church of the Master community breakfast. Tom lived his faith through a generous heart and a consistent willingness to help those in need.
He is survived by his nephew, Steve Archer (Stacy) of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, and his grandnephew, John “Jack” Archer. He was predeceased by his brother, John M. Archer, and his sister, Brigette M. Archer.
