Mishawaka, IN

Thomas C. Brogdon, age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on March 9, 2026, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on April 1, 1953, to the late Robert Wise and Marjorie (Lange) Wise in South Bend, Indiana, Thomas was a man of strength, warmth, and quiet joy who touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A proud South Bend Riley High School alumnus from the Class of 1971, Thomas built a successful career as an entrepreneur, owning and operating a local salvage yard for twenty-five years. Known for his strong work ethic and integrity, he earned the respect of his peers and formed many lifelong friendships through his dedication to his trade. Beyond his professional life, he was an avid collector of model cars, spending countless contented hours in his garage carefully tending to his cherished collection.

Above all, family was the center of Thomas’s world. He is survived by his devoted sons, Matthew (Tiffany) Brogdon, Beau (Sonya) Brogdon, and Vance Brogdon, who carry forward his hearty laughter and generous spirit. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Shannon, Kaylee (Noah), Ashlee, Logan, Sofia, and Ella, and great-grandchild Addison, who will always remember their grandfather’s warmth and the treasured memories he created for them. He is also survived by his loving sister, Patricia Pinckert, brothers Bobby (Karen) Wise and Larry Brogdon, and joins in eternal rest his brother Donald Wise.

Thomas found deep fulfillment in nine years of sobriety, a testament to his remarkable willpower and love for his family. He cherished time spent in nature—camping, fishing, and enjoying the shores of Lake Michigan—where his laughter and gentle presence will long be felt. Most of all, he looked forward to lively family gatherings, where his caring nature and ability to bring everyone together shone brightest. His kindness, vibrancy, and steadfast love will continue to live on in the countless stories his family will tell for years to come.
