January 27, 1943— March 7, 2026
Pittsfield, ME
Thomas B. Chadwick, Sr., 83, died peacefully on March 7, 2026, in Bangor, Maine, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 27, 1943, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to Ezra and Julia (Clogston) Chadwick, he moved to Maine as a child and became a Mainer through and through. He graduated from the Hinckley School in the class of 1962 and soon after married the love of his life, Sharon Page. Together they raised their family, first in Augusta and then in Pittsfield, where Tom became a quiet, dependable presence in the community.
A master electrician by trade, Tom was a true jack of all trades—carpenter, machinist, plumber, and mechanic—who could build or repair nearly anything. He worked on the maintenance crew at Maine Central Institute, served with the Pittsfield Fire Department, and later became Fire Chief. He worked on countless buildings throughout Pittsfield and was known for his kind, gentle nature and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved talking about trucks, motors, trains, and snowmobiling, and took great pleasure in sharing stories with friends and neighbors. When Sharon ran the Easy Street Bed and Breakfast from their home, the world came to them, and he welcomed every visitor with warmth.
He is survived by his wife of more than six decades, Sharon; their three children, Sally Moon and her husband Troy, Bonnie Chadwick and her husband Dan Skillin, and Thomas Chadwick, Jr. and his wife Laura; his grandchildren, April Delcourt and her wife Kendra, Julia Chadwick, Emma Chadwick, and Teagan Moon; his siblings, John Chadwick and Marion Mosher; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James Chadwick.
