Salvatore Jr., of New Rochelle, New York, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on March 14, 2026, in New Rochelle. He was 81 years old.Born on June 10, 1944, to Thomas A. and Concetta Salvatore, Tom was a lifelong New Rochelle resident. Tom graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School in 1962. On February 6, 1965, Tom wed Janet Longo, beginning a marriage that spanned 61 years which was filled with family, friendship, laughter, tears, and a lifetime of shared memories.Tom was predeceased by his parents, his brother-in-law Leonard "Sonny" (Ann) Longo, and by his beloved son, Thomas A. "Tommy" Salvatore III, in 1999.He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet, and by his three children: Benedetto (Donna) Salvatore, Michele (David) Schutz, and Mark (Oscar Ortega) Salvatore. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Thomas Anthony Salvatore IV; Benedetto Jr., Samantha (Alex) DeMasi, Jessica Salvatore, Madison Salvatore, Arianna Salvatore, and Riley Salvatore; Melissa (Vincenzo) Enea, Lisa Marie Schutz, and David "DB" Schutz. His beloved great-grandchildren include Robert, Annabella, Addaline, Elliana, Davina, and the youngest, Isabella.Tom was a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service for nearly 30 years. He was a longtime adult leader with the Boy Scouts of America, where he encouraged young people to always do their best and helped guide them to be prepared for life's opportunities.In his later years, Tom was an active member of Christ Church Pelham, The Parish of Christ the Redeemer Church. He served on the Vestry, on the Rector Search Committee, and as a lector, a Eucharistic minister, and an acolyte. Tom often said he was called by God to serve at Christ Church, and he was always willing to lend a hand to live out that calling.Above all, Tom was most proud of his wife, family and the deep friendships he built throughout his life.
