Born on August 9, 1960, in Norfolk, Virginia, Theresa's life was a testament to kindness, strength, and an unwavering devotion to her family and community.A graduate of Cradock High School in Portsmouth, Virginia, Theresa went on to become the Owner and President of The Blackdog Company, which included the cherished Blackdog Cafe and Blackdog Catering Company. Her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication made a lasting impact on all who frequented her establishments.Theresa was a woman of many interests, but she truly delighted in watching racing and baseball, and found great joy in her involvement with Grace Bible Church in Norfolk. Above all, her favorite pastime was spending time with her five grandchildren, whom she adored immensely.Theresa was preceded in death by her father, James Cummings. She is survived by her devoted mother, Emma (Hill) Cummings, her loving husband of nearly 45 years, Steve Craig, her daughter, Shannon Kohan (Mikey), and her son, Steve Craig Jr. (Tiffany). Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Abigail, Catherine, James, Samuel, and Michael. She is also survived by her three brothers, James, Edward, and John Cummings, as well as numerous friends and patrons who will miss her dearly.Theresa had a big heart and was known for her giving nature and kindness, yet she was also strong-willed and loved by many. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met.A celebration of Theresa's life will be planned for a later date.
