Lake Orion, MI
Theresa Ryba of Lake Orion, Michigan, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 80. Born to Chester and Mary Volos in the close-knit coal-mining community of Ernest, Pennsylvania, she later moved with her family to Detroit, where she graduated from Rosary High School. Theresa cherished the lifelong friendships formed there, carrying their warmth and loyalty with her throughout her life.
Driven and energetic, Theresa embraced life with enthusiasm. She enjoyed sports, dancing, and ceramics, and later channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into founding a successful permanent makeup business that operated at two locations and was known for its quality and personal care.
She was the heart of her family’s home. Married to her husband Bob for 59 years, Theresa created a loving environment in the home they built together on Lake Voorheis, where they lived for 47 years. She is survived by her children, Cindy (husband Daniel Rodriguez) and Dennis (wife Laura Ryba), and her sister, Regina O’Reilly (husband Tom). A devoted grandmother, she is also survived by Alicia, Alex (wife Yainelys), Matthew, Elena, Maddie, Noah, Lucas, and the late Grace, as well as great-granddaughter Sofia.
Theresa was a constant, reliable presence in her grandchildren’s lives, taking them on adventures and offering unwavering support, laughter, and understanding. Her radiant smile, deep faith in God, and gentle spirit brought comfort to everyone she met. Her legacy of kindness, devotion, and love will live on in the hearts of her family.
