Theresa Ann Telesco, 88, of Dunmore, passed away on Tuesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Veno Telesco. A graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1955, Theresa was a longtime and devoted member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish and its Altar and Rosary Society.
She worked for more than 30 years at Northeastern Bank, later known as PNC Bank, before retiring and taking a position in the home furnishings department at JC Penney. In her free time, Theresa found joy in sewing, creating blankets and altering clothing for her family. She was an avid golfer and bowler, belonging to the Pine Hills Golden Girls Golf League and the Hilltop Ladies Bowling League. She also loved to bake, especially her renowned lemon pie, and always made sure there were sweets on hand for family and friends. Most Sunday evenings were spent visiting and sharing memories with her brothers over coffee and dessert.
Theresa was a dedicated daughter who lovingly cared for her parents, and she remained a treasured sister and aunt throughout her life. She is survived by her sister, Angie Lacertoso and husband Tony of Dunmore; her brothers, Eugene Telesco of Dunmore, and William Telesco and wife Ann of Throop; nieces and nephews Tony Lacertoso Jr., Mary Ann Mooney, Arlene Ames, Donna Kashmer, Gina Sheehan, Michael Telesco, Nancy Telesco, and Jennifer Telesco Loftus; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Patricia Kays Telesco.
