Theresa Gambardella ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. on Mar. 3, 2026.We celebrate the beautiful life of Theresa Anna Gambardella (Mamma ''T'') , a wonderful woman, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away peacefully at the age of 96.Theresa was educated as a stenographer and later employed by Equitable Life Insurance company in Manhattan where she worked in the human resources department. She eventually purchased a second home in Jupiter Florida where her family enjoyed countless vacations and built loving memories.Born and raised in Red Hook, Brooklyn to an Italian immigrant father, Pasquale Massa a stevedore in the Red Hook Harbor and mother Lucy DiPirro. Theresa had 3 siblings, Louis, Lucy and Gabriela. She was married 61 years to her husband Andrew Gambardella also from Red Hook, who was employed as a printer before becoming an engineer with the NYPD.She lived her life with grace, kindness, and an unwavering love for her family. Her home in Staten Island was always a place of comfort, laughter, and open arms. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen and valued, and her gentle wisdom guided generations.She enjoyed holidays with family, cooking (her famous eggplant parm) and was an avid baseball fan, never missing a Mets game and actually attended Spring Training in Port St. Lucie this month. She spent countless hours watching little league games and encouraging her children, grandchildren and great-grand children.As a grandmother, she brought joy, stories, and endless encouragement. She leaves behind a legacy built on love, compassion, and faith in her Lord and Savior. Her life was built on simplicity of living each day to the fullest. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her spirit of passion for life lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.She is survived by her children Regina (Mike), Frank (Jeannine), Peter (Jeanne). Daughter in Law Lynda.Grandchildren, Christopher, Kristen(Scott), Leah, Lauren(Frank), Jeana, Vanessa(Chris), Jenna(Chris), Alisa, RussellGreat-Grandchildren, Daniel, Nicholas, Jesse (Lauren), Olivia, Emma, Isabelle, Jayden, Allie, Sophia and ChristopherTheresa is predeceased by her daughter Michele and grandson Andrew.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
