Theodore "Ted" Joseph Thydean

Theodore “Ted” Joseph Thydean, 77, of International Falls, Minnesota, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born on May 20, 1948, in International Falls to Ernest and Lillian Thydean, Ted was a kind and gentle man who centered his life around his family.

He married Sheila Nazarenus on January 4, 1968, and together they raised four children. Ted cherished time spent with his family, whether fishing, listening to his beloved oldies records, or working on cars with his sons. His lifelong passion for automobiles was matched by his simple pleasures: daily walks, playing with his grandchildren, and proudly watching his granddaughter’s dance recitals. He took great pride in his apple trees and enjoyed the fruits of his labor in homemade pie, always paired with a good cup of coffee and lively conversation.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sheila; his children, Shane, Anthony (Katy), Travis, and Holley (Nodin); grandchildren, Larissa, Autumn, Ryan, Justin, Jason, Tristan, Cade, and Gwyn; great-grandchildren, Danika, Kayan, Aleeah, Lakelyn, and Bexley; and his remaining siblings, Gladys, Kathy, Allen, and Toni. His family will remember him with deep affection and countless cherished memories.
