Themis Katrakazos ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Roslyn Heights Funeral Home on Mar. 5, 2026.With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Themis Katrakazos on March 4, 2026, at the age of 62.Themis was the beloved and devoted husband of Maria for 35 beautiful years-a partnership built on love, loyalty, and unwavering support. He was a loving and devoted father, truly the best, and did everything he could for his daughters, Barbara and Sundra, always there for every step along the way, proud of all they accomplished. He was also a proud father-in-law to Nicholas Kavourias and nothing brought him greater happiness than being "Papou" to his cherished grandsons, John and Michael, whose laughter, hugs, and milestones were the light of his life.He was a treasured son of Theodore and Kyriaki, a loving brother to Evangelos and his wife, Marigo, and a cherished member of Maria's family, adored by his mother-in-law Evanthia, and his sisters-in-law Georgia, Diane and her husband Philip, Aristides and his wife Anna. A devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews, Themis's love for family went far beyond closeness-it was his purpose, his pride, and his greatest accomplishment. At the age of 11, Themis emigrated with his family to the United States, carrying courage in his heart and dreams far greater than his circumstances. Through determination, sacrifice, and relentless hard work, he achieved the American dream he so deeply believed in. As a developer, he built more than structures-he built stability, opportunity, and a lasting legacy for his family. He often said he would never retire, because building was not just his profession; it was his passion. Gifted with rare foresight and vision, he could imagine what could be and then work tirelessly to bring it to life.Though he made his life in America, his heart always remained connected to his beloved homeland of Samos. He returned every year, honoring his roots, embracing tradition, and sharing stories of the place that shaped him.Themis found joy in life's simple pleasures-his cars, time spent boating, fishing, and being near the water. Above all, his greatest joy was being surrounded by his family. His warm presence, radiant smile, and deep love of life filled every room he entered. Those who knew Themis knew his strength, generosity, and boundless heart. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his love, lessons, and legacy will live on in all who were blessed to know him.He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.A Visitation will be held on Sunday March 8th from 3:00PM - 7:00PM at Roslyn Heights Funeral Home 75 Mineola Ave. Roslyn Heights, NY 11577.
