Thelma Faye Gehlbach Emily

Thelma Faye Gehlbach Emily, 90, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Harrison County Hospital. Born on March 14, 1935, in New Middletown, Indiana, she was the daughter of Kenneth, Sr. and Vernell Kintner Gehlbach.

Thelma enjoyed a long and varied working life. She retired from the office of Drs. Brockman and Dukes in Corydon, then continued working for many years at H & R Block, the Harrison County Treasurer’s Office, and O’Bannon Woods State Park. A longtime member of Salem United Church of Christ in New Middletown, she served as secretary-treasurer for the church. She found great joy in her Bunco group and was an avid gardener who took pride in her flowers and vegetables.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank Martin Emily, her sister Carol Emily, and her brothers Ernie, Lee, and Kenneth Gehlbach, Jr. Thelma is survived by her children Leisa Emily, Rena Stepro (Nelson), and Lucas Emily, all of Corydon; her grandchildren Carl Redden (Jennifer) of New Salisbury, Heather Kintner Smith (Scott) of Depauw, Coy Stepro (Amber) of Elizabeth, and Taylor Stepro (Breanna) of Corydon; and her great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Aleiah Redden, Alessandra and Emily Smith, and Addison, Hagan, and Taron Stepro.
