Terry Lee Boaz

Terry Lee Boaz

April 3, 1947 March 8, 2026

Montague, TX

Terry Lee Boaz, 78, of Montague, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026. Born on April 3, 1947, in Merkel, Texas, to James Edgar and Dorathy Louise Boothe Boaz, he grew up in Anson, where he graduated from high school before completing four years of college. Terry lived a full life as a rancher and later as a truck driver for more than twenty years. He took great pleasure in roping, hunting, and racing his 1978 blue Chevy Nova, and he had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. Known for his easy conversation and daily habit of checking on the people he cared about, Terry was a faithful member and trustee of Faith Baptist Church in Bowie.

On May 26, 1994, Terry married the love of his life, Debra Echols Snider, at the home of Sue McLendon. He cherished his role as husband and especially loved being called PaPa by his grandchildren. His warm and sometimes ornery spirit touched everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Richard Boaz.

Terry is survived by his wife, Debbie Boaz; his stepson, James (JJ) Snider and wife Ashley of Sunset, Texas; grandchildren Wyatt, Reese, Josie, Clara, Mamie, and DeeDee; Gary Crabtree and wife Jana and their family; sister-in-law Sue McLendon (David Farley); Carolyn Godwin (Andy); cousins Jan Basham (Gary), Sylvia, Eugene Boaz (Joyce), Sara Guernsey (Charlie); and cousin Joe Edd Boaz (Rhonda), whom he regarded as a brother. He will be deeply missed by his many friends.
