SCHLAPPAL (nee Herendeen) age 72, of Mentor, Ohio, passed away March 8, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born on March 5, 1954, in Cleveland to the late William and Nellie Herendeen. Her life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and selfless devotion to others.Terry is the beloved wife of Bob; devoted mother of Katie Langford, Abbey Tousel (Jacob), Daniel Schlappal (deceased), and Kevin Schlappal (Anna). Terry's role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, showering love and wisdom upon her grandchildren, Makayla and Emma Langford, Chase Tousel, and Luke, Noah, and Miles Schlappal. She was also blessed to be a great grandmother to Nash Sanguedolce.Terry dedicated 29 years of service as both an Office Clerk and Director of the After School Program at All Saints Elementary School in Wickliffe and as an active member of St. John Vianney Parish in Mentor. Her contributions to the school community were immeasurable, as she touched the lives of countless students and educators with her kindness and commitment to their well-being. Her work was more than a job; it was a calling that she fulfilled with grace and dedication.Beyond her family and faith, Terry's heart belonged to her beloved dogs, Hank and Boone, who were ever-present companions and sources of joy in her life. Her love for her pets showcased her nurturing spirit and her appreciation for all of God's creatures.Those who knew Terry would describe her as loving, selfless, and faith-filled. Her life was a living example of these virtues. She was a good mom, but many would argue she was an even better grandma. Her legacy is one of an eternal caregiver, a person who gave of herself without expectation of return, who found her greatest fulfillment in the happiness and well-being of those she loved.Funeral Service Friday March 13, 2026 at 2 PM at Brickman Bros.
