Terry E. Backus Sr. of Moyock, North Carolina, passed away on March 16, 2026 at the age of 84.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Backus and Ruth Backus, his daughter Marita Crawford, and his sister Shirley Lindsay. Terry is survived by his wife Sharon Backus, his son Terry E. Backus Jr. and wife Larri, and his granddaughter Karlyn VanHolland and her husband Andrew.
A lifelong family man, Terry found his greatest joy in the love and company of his wife, children, and granddaughter. Those who knew him will remember the steady presence he offered and the quiet strength he carried through the years. His memory remains a cherished part of the lives he touched.
