DePere, WI

Terry Allan Kumrow, 64, of DePere, formerly of Random Lake and Adell, passed away on March 11, 2026 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Born on April 8, 1961 in the town of Sherman, Silver Creek, to Jerome “Jerry” and Geraldine “Gerry” (Gruenewald) Kumrow, Terry graduated from Random Lake High School in 1979. He worked as a technician for most of his career and later as a service writer in motorsports until his illness forced him to retire in 2021.

Terry served as a Pre-Race and Post-Race Tech Inspector for the United States Snowmobile Association and International Snowmobile Racing. He taught classes on snowmobile inspection and fuel testing, and his snowmobile friends became his family away from home. His passion for racing led him across the country to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin, competing on ice ovals, snow drags, ice drags, grass drags, water cross, hill climbs, and sno-cross. He generously mentored new drivers entering the sport, including his son Derek in ice ovals with the help of Scott Cramer. In his free time, Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and cooking and baking.

He is survived by his daughter Abby (Ben) LaFleur of Wrightstown, son Derek (Ashley) Kumrow of Appleton, five grandchildren Micah, Isaiah, Jameson, Maddox, and Owen, brother Larry (Marcy Sheets) Kumrow of Hingham, sisters Lenae “Stella” (Alfred “Fritz”) Heimerl of Random Lake and Twila Wetor of Cascade, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Monica Kumrow, and brother-in-law Gary “Goofy” Wetor.
