Terrie Ann Freeman

Terrie Ann Freeman, age 79, of Coweta, Oklahoma, passed away on March 9, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 2, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Kenneth Eugene Burton and Iva Marie (Jackson) Burton, Terrie grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers High School. There she formed many lifelong friendships that remained important to her throughout her life.

On June 11, 1966, she married the love of her life, Johnny Marshall Freeman, at Will Rogers Heights Christian Church in Tulsa. Their nearly sixty-year marriage was a beautiful testament to their love, faith, and devotion. In 1975, Terrie and Johnny settled in Coweta, where they raised their family and became deeply involved in the community.

Terrie worked for many years in the banking industry as an Administrative Secretary and Loan Officer, earning a reputation for her kindness, dedication, and genuine care for those she served. Later she followed her passion for children, serving as Preschool Director at First Baptist Church in Coweta for six years. A woman of strong faith, she was a longtime member of Community Baptist Church, where she taught the two-year-old class, led a Wednesday morning ladies’ Bible study called “Women of the Word,” and often shared the life lesson to “forgive and forget—only God can help you do this.”

She had a special talent for quilting and lovingly created beautiful quilts for family and friends. Terrie cherished time with her family above all, especially attending her grandsons’ sporting events and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a faithful friend whose kindness and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Freeman; her children, Bryan Freeman and wife Vickie, Bradley Wayne Freeman, and Malisia Marie Bennight and husband Eddie; six grandsons, Dustin and wife Irene, Kody, Tanner, Tristen and wife Marina, Kruz and wife Morgan, and Dakoda; two great-grandsons, Stryker and Greyson; and two great-granddaughters, Mila and Stevie Jo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Eugene Burton and Iva Marie Burton.
