Dyal Funeral Home on Mar. 16, 2026.Terrence Joseph Hogan, born August 28, 1942, in Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved son of the late Terrence Hogan and Gertrude Hogan.Terrence shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Eleanor Jeanne Hogan. Together they built a loving family and a life rooted in kindness, dedication, and community.He was a proud father to his daughter, Kelly Marie Hogan, and a cherished grandfather to three grandchildren: Meghan Marie Nutting, Riley James Nutting, and Trinity Angela Crowley, who brought him immense joy and pride.Terrence earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from DePaul University and went on to enjoy a successful 25-year career in the banking industry, serving in various roles and earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike. He later continued his public service with the Springfield Housing Authority, where he served as Assistant Director of Operations until his retirement in 2006.In 2008, Terrence and his beloved wife Eleanor relocated to South Carolina, where they enjoyed the next chapter of their lives together.Beyond his professional life, Terrence was deeply involved in his community. He served as President of the Fireball Club and was a proud member Lodge of Elks #1849 of Chicopee Ma. Through his involvement with the Fireball Club, he helped support and celebrate the World-Famous Kielbasa Festival, an event cherished by many in the community.Terrence was known for always lending a helping hand and doing what he could to support others. He had a special love for animals, especially his cat "Missy", and found great joy in caring for them. Terrence also enjoyed yard work and took pride in maintaining his home and surroundings. Being active in his community and helping neighbors were things he truly valued.Terrence will be remembered for his generous spirit, warm heart, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His legacy of kindness and service will live on in the many lives he touched.He will be deeply missed by his wife, daughter, grandchildren, extended family, and many friends.A memorial Mass will be held 1:00 pm on Friday March 20, 2026 at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483 , with a luncheon to follow at 2:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Cancer Society, or to the charity of your choice.Interment will held at a later date in Chicopee, Massachusetts.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
