September 8, 1966— March 6, 2026
East Haven, CT
Terrance “Terry” Ian Noel, 59, of East Haven, Connecticut, died peacefully on March 6, 2026, at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born on September 8, 1966, in Fyzabad, Trinidad, he was the son of May Bernadette Noel of East Haven and Roland Trevor Young of Trinidad. Terry lived in Brooklyn, New York, for twenty years before settling in East Haven twenty years ago. He worked in medical coding, most recently at the Hospital of St. Raphael, until his retirement.
Terry was a warm and sociable man who formed friendships easily. Selfless and family-oriented, he placed his loved ones first and was always ready to lend a hand. He held a deep appreciation for the arts, particularly anime and music, and enjoyed traveling to experience different cultures. An enthusiastic seeker of good food, he also found joy in repairing and modifying cars. Above all, Terry cherished quiet moments at home with family and friends in Trinidad. He served as a foundational pillar for his family, and his presence will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother, May Bernadette Noel; his father, Roland Trevor Young; two daughters, Erykah Reid of the Bronx, New York, and Arnell Reid of Boston, Massachusetts; one sister, Lisa T. Young of East Haven; two brothers, Erland A. (Susan) Young and Gerard M. (Benicia) Young of Trinidad; his best friend, Wesley Braton of Trinidad; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including his special niece Destiny Coward and special nephew Niam Telesford of East Haven.
