Teri L. Riley

Teri L. Riley, 78, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. She was born on February 10, 1948, in Chanute, Kansas, to Sabin S. and Margaret I. (Van Gotten) Edgerle.

On July 1, 1978, Teri married her beloved husband, Virgil W. Riley. She spent 33 years teaching in the Savannah School District and surrounding areas, where she shaped the lives of countless young students. Teri found joy and creative expression through painting, and she loved spending time outdoors on the golf course. An avid reader, she was often seen with a book close at hand. Her garden reflected her nurturing spirit, as she tended each flower and plant with care. A devoted Kansas Jayhawks fan, she celebrated her team with the same enthusiasm she brought to all her interests. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her grandsons, who brought her the greatest happiness.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Teri is survived by her husband, Virgil; her children, Jeremy Riley (Melanie) and Shannon Meyer (Matt); her grandsons, Cooper and Duncan Riley, and Sabin Meyer; and her sisters, Pat McKain and Lori Moravek.
