Teresita Balbin-Esteban

October 6, 1957 March 12, 2026

Morris Plains, NJ

Teresita “Tess” Balbin Esteban passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 6, 1957, in Asingan, Pangasinan, Philippines, to Ramona Moreno Balbin and Ben Balbin, she was raised in a close-knit family that instilled in her the values of faith, perseverance, and devotion to family.

Tess earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center and dedicated more than twenty years of her career to caring for others as an Intensive Care Unit nurse at University Hospital. She built a life with her husband, Teddy Esteban, centered on family, resilience, and shared purpose. Together they raised their son, William Balbin, and she later became a deeply devoted grandmother to her two granddaughters, Charlotte and Ysabella, who brought her immense pride and joy.

Active in the Filipino community, Tess served with the Fil-Am Pag-Asa Club, where she formed lasting friendships and generously gave her time to support others. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering dedication to her family, and the warmth she brought into every home she entered. With humility, kindness, and quiet grace, she made those around her feel cared for and safe, leaving a legacy of compassion, strength, and faith.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Teddy Esteban; her son, William Balbin, and his wife, Amy Tran-Balbin of Morris Plains, New Jersey; and her beloved granddaughters, Charlotte and Ysabella Balbin. She is also survived by her siblings, Samuel Balbin (Josie), Evelyn Suarez (Ramon), Beatriz Cajala, and Corazon Ignacio (Miguel), along with many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Rudy Balbin.
