Teresa McGinn ObituaryPublished by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 13, 2026.Teresa McGinn (née O'Sullivan) was born in Co. Cork, Ireland, the 7th of 12 children. Just shy of 20, Teresa emigrated to the US in search of adventure and prosperity. She instantly embraced the vibrancy of San Francisco, where she met a young banker from Northern Ireland who would become her husband. Upon starting a family, Teresa and Gerry McGinn followed Gerry's career across the Central Valley. Teresa spent nearly 40 years in Yuba City and so made a mark in the community. When her children were older, she became certified as an instructional aide, specializing in 1:1 support at Franklin Elementary. It was a career she held with dedication until age 70. She was a regular at the Racquet Club, where she played tennis and enjoyed the gym and social life there. In later years, she took up golf, loving the game and Irish idol, Rory McIlroy. She also volunteered her time with St. Isidore's, Sutter Co, Democratic Party and the Discovery Shop.Warm, inquisitive, and good-humored, Teresa delighted in meeting new people wherever she went. She maintained a lifelong habit of checking in on extended family and old friends. And she took great joy in her grandchildren's lives, while providing unwavering support to her son.Teresa was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerry, in 2022. They spent their final years back in San Francisco, close to their devoted daughters. She is survived by son, Patrick; son-in-law, Holger Luedorf; grandchildren, Pauline, Niall, Konstantin; and many nieces and nephews in Ireland, the UK, and California.Teresa passed away peacefully at her daughter, Stephanie's home with close family by her side. Friends are invited to the funeral mass on April 1st, at 2pm, at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in San Francisco.
