Mrs. Teddy Gene Ammons, née Day, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in Hannibal, Missouri. Born on October 17, 1942, in Topeka, Kansas, Teddy lived a full and vibrant life centered on her deep devotion to family and her appreciation for the simple joys of daily living. She raised her family in Northern Missouri, creating a warm and loving home. After retiring, she moved to Delray Beach, Florida, for a new chapter before returning to Missouri in 2005.

Teddy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Max (Pat) Ammons, with whom she shared many cherished years, and by her parents. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mary Kay Beckman; her son, Mark Alan Hayes, and his wife Cindy; and her stepsons, Terry Max Ammons, Harry Ammons and his wife Liz, and Jerry Ammons. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Tom Day and his wife Cindy; her sister, Jackie Martin and her husband Milton; and her sister, Dawn Joy Moore and her husband Lavon.

Teddy found great joy in gardening and canning, pursuits that reflected her nurturing spirit and practical wisdom. She was an active member of The Moose Lodge, where she enjoyed the camaraderie of community, and she held a lifelong love for animals, with her final companion, Molly the cat, occupying a special place in her heart. Her warmth and resilience touched everyone who knew her, leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
