Lakemore, OH

Ted L. McQuain, 78, of Lakemore, passed away on March 8, 2026. Born on July 20, 1947, he was the son of the late Twila and Howard McQuain.

He shared 54 loving years of marriage with his wife Jean McQuain, who survives him along with their son Ted McQuain (Tiffany), daughter Megan McQuain, granddaughter Brianna, grandsons Brock and Bryce McQuain and their mother Nicole, and extended grandson Abel. Ted is also survived by his sister Gwynn Klein, mother-in-law Genevieve Bartoletta, sisters-in-law Patsy Hahn and Jenny Bartoletta, brother-in-law Victor Bartoletta (Chris), and many beloved nephews and nieces.

A proud member of the Army Navy Club 273 for 57 years, Ted cherished the friendships there that became like family, especially Gene and Theresa Bell. He also found great joy at Mason’s Autoparts, where he shared his lifelong passion for cars with Dave, Brad, and Richard Mason and the rest of the crew. Ted retired from Gempco after 43 years of dedicated service. He served for many years as Assistant Director under Richard “Dick” Kapper for Green Youth Football and was inducted into the GYF Hall of Fame for his commitment.

Ted’s happiest moments came from working on classic cars, relaxing in the pool, family vacations to Florida, occasional gambling, and proudly attending his grandchildren’s sports and activities. He was deeply grateful for the kindness of his neighbors, including Tommy and Jen Casale and the late Irve and Evelyn Nettle, and he will be dearly missed by his loyal dogs Toby and Coco.
