Taylor Alicia Stelting, 31, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on March 8, 2026 following a lengthy hospital stay and surgery, just one week before her 32nd birthday. Born on March 14, 1994, she was the eldest daughter of David Stelting and Kimberly Taylor Stelting. From the moment she entered the world, Taylor brought energy and excitement to her family and never stopped.
She grew up in Olathe, Kansas, attending Scarborough Elementary, Chisholm Trail Middle School, and Olathe South High School, where she participated in chorus and theater. After graduating in 2013, she took creative courses at Johnson County Community College before beginning her career with Republic Services. Taylor embraced every creative pursuit that captured her interest, including singing, dancing, theater, writing, floral arranging, sewing, knitting, sketching, cooking, baking, bedazzling, makeup and hair styling, nail art, RPG games, and above all, Dungeons and Dragons. She was known for her big heart and strong convictions, especially her passionate advocacy for human rights.
Taylor is survived by her mother Kimberly and stepfather Jeremy Whetstone of Olathe, her father David of Kansas City, Kansas, her sister and brother-in-law Kendall and Mark Stelting-Milks of Kansas City, Kansas, and her sister and roommate Logan Stelting. She is also survived by her grandparents Gerald and Sylvia Taylor and Marianne Foster; aunts and uncles Stacy Scheelk, Jennifer and JJ Jenkins, Julie and Todd Baker, and Megan and Brian Lasche; and cousins Mallory and Brooks Scheelk, Trey, Flynn and Cameron Jenkins, and Luke, Jordan and Allison Baker. She leaves behind many dear friends who became chosen family, all of whom were embraced by her enormous capacity to love.
A vibrant soul taken far too soon, Taylor will be remembered for her creativity, her fierce beliefs, and the boundless love she gave to her family, her chosen family, and her beloved pets.
