Tara Ann Bertrand Blanchard

Tara Ann Bertrand Blanchard, 54, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away at her home on Friday, March 6, 2026. Born on December 31, 1971, she was the daughter of Emile and Deborah Ortego Bertrand of Lake Charles.

Tara cherished her family above all else. A strong and generous woman, she found quiet joy in reading, collecting teacups, and living as frugally as possible. Her devotion to her children and grandchildren defined her life and brought her the deepest fulfillment.

She is survived by her mother, Deborah Ortego; her children, Amy Whitfield, Austin Blanchard (Kaitlyn), and Andrew Blanchard; and her grandchildren, Madilynn Blanchard and Izzybell Blanchard. She was preceded in death by her father, Emile Bertrand III, and her grandparents, Emile Bertrand Jr. (Bridgette) and John Melton Sr. (Mellie).
