Tanja "Tinnie West" Bowman

Tanja Reene "Tinnie" Bowman, age 72, of Ossian, Indiana, passed away on March 6, 2026, at her home. Born in Richmond, Indiana, on June 16, 1953, to the late Raymond and Ada Kate (Smith) West, Tinnie grew up surrounded by family and later made her home in the Bluffton and Ossian area.

In 1994, she married Edward Eugene Bowman, and together they shared more than thirty years of life and love. Tinnie worked as a bartender at the Eagles Lodge in Bluffton and also at Dollar General. She found great joy in tending her garden, collecting Campbell Soup memorabilia, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her deep and lasting friendship with Sheri Thompson brought her special happiness throughout the years.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Bowman of Ossian; daughters Vanessa Williams and husband Kenneth of Liberty Center, and Tlareenea Donnersbach and husband Christopher of Bluffton; daughter-in-law Carrie Bowman of Bluffton; ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Shirley Lane and husband Larry of Geneva, Mellissa Ducan and husband Bill of Bluffton, Fredonna Eckhart and husband Tim of Bluffton, and Michelle Davis of Bluffton. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Allen Bowman, one grandchild, her brother Raymond West and his wife Eunice, and her parents.
