Tammy Thompson

Tammy Louise Byrd Thompson, age 55, of Williamson, passed away on March 11, 2026, at her home. Born and raised in Dadeville, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late William E. Byrd and Estella Irene Freed Byrd.

Tammy lived her life as a devoted homemaker who found deep joy in simple pleasures. She cherished her garden, loved trips to the beach, and treasured quiet evenings watching beautiful southern sunsets. Above all, she delighted in every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, who were the heart of her world.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David Leroy Byrd, her sister Sherry Marie Byrd, her nephew Christopher Lee Byrd, her brother William V. Byrd, and her great-nephew William Beau Olah.

Tammy is survived by her children, Katie Thompson (Adam Cahill), Cheyenne Thompson (Joshua Tanksley), and Jacob Thompson; her beloved grandchildren, Mila Wren Tanksley, Maeve Noelle Tanksley, and Callum Lee Tanksley; and her sister and brother, Teresa Olah (Steven) and Ricky Byrd. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
