Talmadge Eugene Flippo, 92, of Valdosta, died on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Fellowship Home following a period of declining health. He was born on February 15, 1934, in Marion, Alabama to the late Melvin and Olena Franks Flippo. Mr. Flippo was a veteran of the United State Air Force and retired from the Centel Company where he worked in telecommunications and management. He was known as Mr. Fix-it as he was able to help many with their computer problems and any other problems that arose, enjoyed working in his yard, was an avid golfer, loved camping, volunteered for the soup kitchen and SGMC. Mr. Flippo was a devoted husband, a proud grandfather, and a joyful great grandfather whose greatest happiness in life was his family. Above all he was an abiding and faithful servant of the Lord. He was a member of Park Avenue Church.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Dorothy Flippo of Valdosta; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marsha Flippo Hill of Scurry, Texas and Donna and Gerald Heath of Tallahassee, grandchildren and their spouses, Adam and Brandy Shapiro of Scurry, Texas, Tonia and Randy Arris of Bonham, Texas and Ashley and Jeremy Matyjaszek of Tallahassee; great-grandchildren, Colby Shapiro, Landry Shapiro, Madelyn Stone, Brittany Sims, Randy Arris, Jr., Calab Arris, Carson Arris, Sophie Matyjaszek, Stella Matyjaszek, and Sydney Matyjaszek; great great-grandchildren, Elijah Sims and Reece Sims. Mr. Flippo was preceded by his son, Scott Flippo, and his grandson, Bryan Shapiro.

A service for Talmadge Eugene Flippo will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Jamie Bone officiating. A burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of South Georgia.
