Tabatha Ann "DiMatteo" Scribner

Tabatha Ann "DiMatteo" Scribner

November 25, 1978 March 11, 2026

Rutland, MA

Tabatha Ann Scribner, 47, of Rutland, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of Daryl J. and Rhonda D. (Dennis) DiMatteo. She graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden with the Class of 1996 and earned her Associate’s Degree from Becker College in Worcester in 1998.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Michael “Mike” L. Scribner of Rutland; her daughters, Rebecca Scribner of Vermont and Sarah Scribner of Worcester; her parents, Daryl and Rhonda DiMatteo of Rutland; her brother, Justin DiMatteo and his wife Hannah Shayler of New York; her sister, Krystal Chalifoux and her fiancé Lee Beaudoin of Worcester; her mother-in-law, Joanie Scribner; her father-in-law, Kenny Scribner, who predeceased her; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Rebecca and Sarah will always remember their mother as strong, compassionate, patient, and understanding. Her daughters were her highest priority. Tabatha loved spending time with her family, whether on vacation, at a Woo Sox game, or simply at home. She found joy in gardening, cooking, and crocheting, especially when creating gifts for those she loved. The family shared many adventures together, treasure hunting, letterboxing, and exploring beaches, ponds, and waterfalls, drawn by her deep love of the water. Game nights with grandparents, friends, and family were a cherished routine, and World of Warcraft held a special place in their home life. She and Mike shared a passion for dancing, particularly country dancing, which first brought them together. A cause close to her heart was supporting the mental health of youth and young adults.
