Sylvia Lee Parker, 90, of Greeley, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born on October 8, 1935, in Walsh, Colorado, to Lela and Cecil Howard, she graduated from Greeley High School in 1953. While still in high school, she met her future husband, Vernie Parker, who was serving in the Army. The couple married in 1953 and built a life together centered on family and service.
Sylvia devoted herself to raising her sons while working for many years as a bookkeeper for several companies, retiring from Union Colony Bank. She gave generously of her time as a Sunday School teacher at Galeton Community Church, a 4-H leader, a volunteer with Right to Read, and a dedicated participant in Al-Anon for 48 years. In retirement she enjoyed traveling to Europe and Hawaii, and cherished time spent with family at their vacation home of more than 23 years at Glen Echo Resort in the Rocky Mountains. She remained a loyal supporter of her beloved Colorado Rockies.
She is survived by her sons Jimmie (Cheryl Klee) Parker, Jerry Parker, and Joe (Christine) Parker; her sister Sharon Bessler; grandchildren Jennifer (Roe) Morales and Nicholas (Jowanna) Parker; step-grandchildren Harry and Lucy Blohmann; and three great-grandchildren, Parker, Lincoln, and Everett. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, including Matthew and his son Adler Street, and Amanda (Ryan) and her daughter Leighla Allan. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Lela and Cecil Howard, and her husband Vernie Parker.
