Sylvia Jean "Grooms" Love

Sylvia Jean Grooms Love, age 79, of Laurel Hill, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, as she had wished.

Born on December 11, 1946, in Scotland County, Sylvia was the daughter of the late Luther “Luke” and Eleneta Benton Grooms. She worshipped God from home with her family and found quiet joy in simple pleasures. She loved watching Family Feud, wearing her hats, crocheting homemade ornaments, decorating her seasonal tree, and collecting porcelain dolls. She enjoyed trying new foods with her family, had a special fondness for sweets and spaghetti, and ate grits every morning. Above all, Sylvia cherished spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Love, Jr.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Timothy Love, and his wife, Christy Love, whom she regarded as her own; and her grandchildren, Darrian Love, Deon Love, Kyona Love, and Krisetia Love.
