Sylvia Ila (Vernon) Collins

Sylvia Ila Vernon Collins, age 84, of Cana, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 14, 1941, in Carroll County to the late William Cleve and Emmie Easter Vernon, Sylvia lived a life devoted to her family and those she held dear.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and presence touched everyone who knew her. Sylvia will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Ronnie Gray Collins and Misty; five grandchildren, Kevin Payne, Dustin Payne, Michael Collins and Dana, Samuel Collins, and Judah Collins; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister, Pernie Sue Vernon Arnold; and special friends Dusty and Debbie Kite and Carol Hiatt, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Gray Collins; a daughter, Judy Ann Collins; a son, Stanley Keith Collins; a sister, Ernie Vernon Flippin; and four brothers, Franklin Vernon, Gene Vernon, Robert Vernon, and Cecil Vernon.
