Syble Bokides ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Cherokee Memorial Park & Funeral Home on Mar. 9, 2026.Syble Hill BokidesWith deep love & gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Syble Hill Bokides on March 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving children Bridget Bokides & Richard Bokides.Born in Oak Grove, Louisiana, Syble was the youngest of twelve children and remained deeply connected to her large extended family throughout her life. After graduation she moved to Houston Texas and eventually settled in Stockton, California where she married Richard (Demastenes) Bokides. Together they shared 49 years of marriage while raising their family and operating several businesses throughout the central valley, including Stockton, Tracy, and Wesley. Syble was an active member of the Stockton Lions Club for many years and proudly served as president. She also volunteered at the Stockton Blind Center and helped raise funds through countless ticket sales at the Lions Clubs annual Crab Feeds. An avid bowler and devoted mother, Syble rarely missed one of her children's sporting events, no matter the weather. She was known for her elegance and love of fashion & jewelry. She was often seen arriving in her signature heels.Syble and Richard were passionate fans of the San Francisco 49ers and longtime season ticket holders who loved to tailgate in their motorhome. After Richard's passing she found companionship and love with John Berkshire who remained devoted to her for the past 15 years. She spent her later years in Woodbridge and Folsom California.A celebration of life will be held at later date.In lieu of flowers, donations in Syble's memory may be made to UC Davis Hospice, whose compassionate care meant so much to our family. Her family takes comfort knowing she is reunited with her parents, siblings, and husband Richard. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
