Suzanne Smoot

Suzanne L. Smoot, 87, of Billings, passed away on March 13 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on April 22, 1938, Suzanne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and carried a lifelong passion for learning, the arts, and the outdoors.

In Billings, she was a dedicated supporter of the Yellowstone Art Museum, the Billings Parmly Public Library, and the renovation of the Alberta Bair Theater. She embraced an active life, finding joy in playing tennis, skiing, hiking Montana’s landscapes, and horseback riding, all of which reflected her deep love of nature and adventure.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. William Smoot; her three sons, John (Vicky), Sam (Karen), and Ted (Laura); her sister, Sally (Tom); and seven grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Suzanne’s life will be held this summer.
