She was 87. Born on November 14, 1938 Sue was the cherished daughter of the late Lester and Anna Ney of Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania.Sue was deeply devoted to her family. She was a loving wife who shared 66 years of marriage with her husband Dave. She was a proud and supportive mother to her daughters Becky Smith and Carol Bulvin. Her legacy continues through her five granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother William Ney. In addition to her parents, Sue was predeceased by her sister Marylin Beck.Sue dedicated her life to caring for others. A graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing, she pursued a career as a registered nurse. Her professional journey included working in doctors' offices, providing private duty nursing care, and serving as a school nurse at Cold Spring Elementary School in the Upper Moreland Township School District. Her compassion and dedication left an indelible mark on those she cared for throughout her career.A woman of many talents and passions, Sue found joy in quilting, cross stitch, sewing, and baking. These hobbies not only brought her personal fulfillment but also served as expressions of her unconditional love for others. Her creations were treasured by family and friends alike.Sue's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church, where she volunteered countless hours and participated in women's Bible studies, Friendship Guild, and shut-in outreach programs.Sue will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, coworker and friend who consistently put the needs of others above her own. Her selflessness and kindness touched many lives.A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, in the Derstine Chapel at Dock Woods in Lansdale. Visitation 10-11am; service 11am.Soon after her Alzheimer's diagnosis, Sue chose to participate in several research studies in the hope of contributing to the development of treatments for and prevention of the disease.
