Suzanne Hunger May of Fort Stockton passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of 95. She died peacefully in the home she and her late husband, John, built in 1956. Born on October 16, 1930, in Rochester, New York, to Felix and Helen Hunger, Sue graduated from the University of Arizona, where she met John May. They married on September 22, 1953.

Sue and John moved to Fort Stockton in 1955 and made it their home for the rest of their lives. She lived with grace and dignity, remaining deeply devoted to her family and friends. Active in her community and church, Sue was also closely involved in the family’s horse business. She and John spent summers in Ruidoso, New Mexico, where they maintained a successful racing stable.

Sue is survived by her son, Doug May of Fort Stockton; her daughter, Judy May Wiest, and son-in-law, Rocco Wiest, of Fort Stockton; grandchildren Chase Wiest and his wife Jacinda, and Kellie Wiest Young; and great-grandchildren Rylee Wiest, Cody Young, and Parker Young.
