January 11, 1952— March 9, 2026
Crosby, TX
Susan Yvonne Davis, 74, of Crosby, Texas, passed peacefully on March 9, 2026, held in the arms of her Heavenly Father. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Susan carried warmth and love wherever she went, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Born on January 11, 1952, in Alabama, she was the daughter of Hoover and Exie Blair. Susan embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She was a devoted collector of trinkets, each holding its own story, and found joy in oldies music, flowers, genealogy research, fishing, and the occasional lucky hand at the casino. She had a lifelong love of learning and a natural gift for making others feel at home.
Her kitchen was a place of love and legend. Susan’s fried chicken, fudge, and strawberry divinity became cherished Christmas traditions that her family looked forward to every year. Above all, her greatest joy was her family. Her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “MawMaw,” held a special place in her heart, and her devotion to those she loved was unwavering.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Davis; her parents, Hoover and Exie Blair; her sister, Caroline Street; her brother, Don Blair; her stepsons, Darren and Ray Davis; and her grandchild, Travis McCleney. She is survived by her son, Shawn McCleney; her sisters, Janice Russell, Elaine Rogers (husband Lou), and Donna Sillars (husband Cameron); her grandchildren, Jillian and Casten McCleney; and a loving extended family of stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
