Susan Norville Atkinson

Susan Norville Atkinson, of Davison, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Serene Gardens of Grand Blanc at the age of 83.

Born in Washington, D.C., on January 31, 1943, Susan was the daughter of the late Carl and Frances “Eve” (Eason) Herr. She married James Atkinson on August 22, 1965, in Bowling Green, Ohio. A graduate of Bowling Green University with a bachelor’s degree in art education, she worked as an art teacher and later taught pottery classes, generously sharing her creative talents. She set aside her career to devote herself to raising her two sons, a role she cherished deeply. For 50 years, Susan and her husband owned and operated Davison Greenhouse, pouring their energy into the business and the community it served. In her later years, her faith grew central to her life as she found guidance in scripture. An avid animal lover, she held a special affection for her Collies, who were a familiar sight running freely around the family greenhouse. Independent and creative, Susan lived with quiet strength and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

She is survived by her loving husband, James K. Atkinson; sons David (Tammy) Atkinson and Michael (Karin) Atkinson; grandchildren Spencer, Andrew, Wesley, and Brooke Atkinson; and many other loving family members and friends.
