Susan Meadows

Susan Meadows, born on March 13, 1954, in Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, just days before her 72nd birthday. A cherished wife, sister, and friend, Susan lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and quiet kindness that touched everyone around her.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Steve Meadows, and her brother, John Geyer. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Russell Geyer and Mickey Dawson Geyer. She graduated from Chatham High School in 1972 and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Averett College in 1976. For many years she served as a supervisor at Negril, where her genuine care and enthusiasm made a lasting difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Later in life, Susan and Steve moved from Blairs to their peaceful lakeside home in Clarksville, Virginia, where they became beloved members of the Merrifield community, known affectionately as the Darcy Gang. Susan found great joy in the companionship of her dogs, Tater, Rufus, and Tess, who remained by her side throughout the years. Her gentle spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
