Beloved wife of the late Bernardo "Bernie" Palos for a wonderful 38 years. Loving mother of Rachel (András) von Aulock, John (Anna) Palos, Joseph (Mary Theresa) Palos, Paul (Aminah) Bazzell-Palos, Maria (Robby) Regalbuto, Jo Ann (Santiago) Cobar Palos, Felicity Palos, Anya Palos and James Palos. Devoted grandmother of Javier, Stella, Paloma, Diego, Antonio, Lucia, Sofia, Olivia, Isabel, Joaquín, Siena, Celeste, Wolfgang, Eloise, Blaise, and baby Cobar Palos. Dear sister to Edward (Laura), late Cathy, Theresa (Terry), Mary (Tim), Ronald, and Donald, sister-in-law of Tony (Mary), JC, Jim, late Maricarmen (Curtis), Francisco (Inmaculada), Mike (Carol), Lucia (Albert) and Rosemary. Fond aunt, Godmother, and friend of many. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Lucille, husband Bernie, and sister Cathy.Susan shared a deeply fulfilling marriage with her late husband Bernie, built on faith and a profound love and understanding. Upon Bernie's diagnosis with cancer, Susan became his devoted caregiver, exemplifying the strength and depth of their bond as their love rose to new heights.She was a wonderful and adventurous mother and enjoyed sharing new music, films, books, art and activities with her children. As a homeschooling mom, she loved to pack her many kids in the car and head to a museum for the day. She was also very supportive of all her children's endeavors, from sampling home brews to cheering on her son in the front row at a rock concert.Susan was a devoted sibling, especially to her disabled older sister, Cathy. She faithfully visited her in a nursing home for many years. During the COVID outbreak, Bernie and Susan welcomed Cathy into their home to care for her to ensure she would not be isolated.She possessed a unique ability to connect with others through deep conversations and was known for sharing her many profound insights. She enjoyed cooking for those she loved and was a warm host. She was thoughtful, generous and kind and made everyone she met feel instantly comfortable. She excelled at making friends and making people smile, finding joy and amusement in the most difficult times.Susan was a great proponent of natural living and enjoyed sharing that passion with others. She delivered 8 children at home and provided guidance to others on breastfeeding and childcare. She loved researching herbal remedies and supplements for cures and sharing her knowledge.Ultimately, Susan derived her strength from her deep faith and relationship with God. Susan lived her vocation to Opus Dei faithfully for 34 years, allowing it to form the foundation of her life. As a devoted parishioner of St. John Vianney Church for 33 years, she embodied her beliefs and dedicated much of her life to sharing her faith with others.
