Susan Marie Drews

Susan Marie Drews, née Behne, was an outgoing woman who never met a stranger. She delighted in wildlife conservation efforts at Unity of Wimberley, Texas, and loved sharing home-baked treats with others. An avid photographer, she took countless pictures of birds, flowers, and church events. Her home reflected her playful spirit, filled with a large and much-loved collection of cat figurines, cookie cutters, and cake pans, while her garden was a favorite place to watch hummingbirds and tend to her flowers.

Born on May 29, 1947, in Houston, Texas, Susan moved with her family to Brenham, Texas, at the age of 12. She lived in several places around the state, including Hitchcock, Katy, and Kyle, before spending her final years in Arvada, Colorado, to be near her daughter and granddaughter. She was married to Roger Drews, who predeceased her in 2024. Susan is survived by her daughter, Angela Patterson, and her granddaughter, Fi Patterson, who were the center of her world. She suffered from dementia for many years and died of natural causes on March 6, 2026, at the age of 78.
