Susan Wheeler ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Pivont Funeral Home - Hinton on Mar. 7, 2026.With profound sadness, the family of Susan Lynn Wheeler announces her passing at the age of 61.Born on Valentine's Day, she truly lived a life that reflected the meaning of that day. To know her was to love her. She had the biggest, most golden heart, and she shared it freely with everyone around her. Her life was rooted in love, loyalty, and family-the simple, meaningful things that the world sometimes forgets matters most. She was the beloved daughter of Roberta and Garry Wheeler, who now face the unimaginable heartbreak of laying their firstborn daughter to rest. She was preceded in death by her friend and father of her children, Roy Adkins. She was a proud and loving mother to her three children, Kendra, Mandy (Adam) and Garry (Johna), and a devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren; Kayden, Kyleigh, Harper and Harlen. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Nothing brought her greater joy than having them close, letting them sleep beside her, and quietly watching over them with the kind of love only a grandmother can give. She is also survived by her two sisters, Diane Holland (Clay) and Rebecca Jones. Additionally, she also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who held a very special place in her heart.Family was everything to her-not only the family she was born into, but also the family that God placed into her life along the way. She welcomed people with open arms, endless patience, and unconditional love. Many in the community considered her a second mother. She had a special way with children and was often known as a "child whisperer", raising and guiding countless young lives with kindness and understanding. She had a deep appreciation for the beauty in the world. She loved crystals, rainbows, sunshine, the river, animals, trees, flowers and music. Lilacs were her favorite. She also had a special love for photographs and memories. Whenever someone in the community lost a loved one, they often came to her for photos-knowing she would somehow have preserved a moment they could hold onto forever. Her heart held an infinite capacity for love and forgiveness. She loved deeply, sometimes even to her own detriment, but always with sincerity and grace. No matter the struggles she faced, she never lost sight of what truly mattered-hugs, laughter while looking through old pictures, loyalty, friendship, and the simple joy of being together. She was truly a rainbow in the middle of someone else's rainstorm. Those who knew and loved her will carry her warmth, compassion, and beautiful spirit with them always. In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated and the family will honor her life at a later date.
