April 21, 1950— March 6, 2026
Ponca City, OK
Susan Lorene Anderson, 75, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died on March 6, 2026, with her son by her side. Born on April 21, 1950, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Robert and Billie Ellis, Susan spent her life caring for others as a devoted homemaker, talented hairdresser, and, above all, a loving mother.
She owned and operated her own salon for many years, where she not only made people feel beautiful but also taught and mentored others in the craft. Several of her students went on to open their own salons, extending the legacy of her skill and generosity. Susan was actively involved in her community, helping to establish the Blue Star Mothers chapter in Ponca City to support military members, including her nephew Ryan while he was deployed overseas.
She cherished time with her family, especially watching her son Rob play baseball, cooking for gatherings, playing cards, and spending days at the lake. A member of the Moose Lodge, she found joy in bingo and in simply being surrounded by those she loved. Nothing, however, brought her greater pride or happiness than her son Rob. Supporting his dreams and watching him grow remained the highlight of her life.
Susan is survived by her siblings, Sherrill Meyer of Perkins, Oklahoma, Michael Ellis of Claremore, Oklahoma, Robert Ellis Jr. of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Kim Johnson of Derby, Kansas, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
