Susan, always outgoing and friendly, participated in her school's Ushers Guild and Art Club. It was during this time, after a blind date, that she met her husband Norm, who worked at another anchor store in the mall. They married on June 17, 1972 at St. Ambrose Church, Bridgeport, CT. Susan lovingly referred to this as "the happiest day of her life." Residing first in Meriden, CT, they moved to Hopewell Junction, NY, where Susan was a stay-at-home mom, who enjoyed the pleasures motherhood blessed her with. Eventually, she became a long term, part-time employee of Caldor Dept Store in Wappingers Falls, NY, working their Jewelry Dept and cashiering. After moving again to the Poughkeepsie area, Susan worked briefly for the Southern Dutchess News, and later the Dollar Tree in Arlington.
