Susan Karen Roberts

Susan Karen Roberts (DelPorto), known affectionately as Susie, passed away on March 12, 2026 at UH Geneva Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 84. Born on November 10, 1941 in Erie, Pennsylvania, to William DelPorto and Evelyn Pyle, Susie married Thomas Roberts, Sr. on November 3, 1962. She embraced every role in her large family as daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Susie had a remarkable gift for making everyone who entered her home feel like family. She loved people deeply and generously offered a warm meal or a place to rest to anyone in need. Though she worked as a cosmetologist, dishwasher, prep cook, and housekeeper, her greatest joy and true calling were as a devoted mother and homemaker. Her warmth, presence, and spirited feistiness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Williams of McKean, Pennsylvania; her children, Thomas Roberts, Jr. of Erie, Pennsylvania, Janet (Bruce) Fogle of Springboro, Pennsylvania, and Jennifer (Clifford) Bowers of Conneaut, Ohio; along with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Thomas Roberts, Sr.; her son, William Roberts, Sr.; her brother-in-law, Neal Williams; and her daughter-in-law, Debra Roberts.
