Susan D. (Witter) Dargie, 74, of Titusville, Florida, passed away on March 10, 2026.
Born on January 5, 1952, in Akron, Ohio, at Akron General Hospital to Frederick E. Witter, Sr. and Jeanette Anne (Bogdonovich) Witter, Susie carried a special affection for her hometown throughout her life. It was there that she later gave birth to all three of her children. At the age of fifteen, she met the love of her life, Robert B. Dargie, Jr., at church. Their shared faith became the foundation of a devoted marriage that lasted 51 years after they wed on November 2, 1974.
In 1983, Susie and Robert moved to Titusville, Florida, where she dedicated herself to raising their three children, homeschooling them with patience, care, and steadfast faith. She later served as a teacher’s aide at Titusville High School, working lovingly with exceptional education students until 2005, when she embraced the role she cherished most: becoming a grandmother. For the entirety of her marriage, she served faithfully alongside her husband in ministry as a pastor’s wife and Sunday School teacher. Much of her service was quiet and behind the scenes, yet her encouragement, kindness, and deep faith touched countless lives.
Susie found joy in simple pleasures such as shopping, decorating her home for every season—especially Christmas—and watching Hallmark movies. Above all, she treasured time with her family, particularly spoiling and loving her beloved granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband, Robert B. Dargie, Jr.; her children, Kevin Dargie (Laurie), Kristi Rogers (David), and Marianne Ruark (Mitch); her granddaughters, Hailey Kon, Brianna Dargie, Ashley Kon, and Isla Ruark; her siblings, Frederick Witter, Jr. (Vicky) and Barbara Mitchell; as well as a niece and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick E. Witter, Sr. and Anne Witter; her brother, James R. Witter; her sister-in-law, JoAnn Miller; her niece, Heather A. Mitchell; her brother-in-law, Ralph A. Mitchell; and her nephew, Jeffrey R. Miller.
