Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel - Portsmouth on Mar. 17, 2026.Susan (Carbonaro) Lawry, 69, of North Hampton, NH passed away on March 15, 2026, surrounded by her family at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. She was born June 9,1956 in Boston, Massachusetts to Joseph and Dorothy (Stoddard) Carbonaro.Susan was a longtime Seacoast resident having resided in Portsmouth, Rye, and North Hampton throughout her life. She attended Portsmouth High School and enrolled herself in accounting courses at the local vocational school. Susan married her childhood sweetheart, Edward "Chip" Lawry, and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage together.Susan enjoyed taking long, scenic motorcycle rides with her husband. Some of her fondest memories were driving across the country with her daughter Kayla, traveling through Nova Scotia on a motorcycle, skydiving, and her trips to Vermont. She had a passion for crocheting and would make endless blankets, hats, and potholders. She was in the sign business for a good portion of her career, including the family business, Lawry Sign. Susan loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren.Susan is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Michael S. Carbonaro of California. She is survived by her husband Chip of North Hampton, NH; son Nathan Lawry and wife Kelly of Hampton; daughter Abby McMaster and wife Katie of Greenland, NH; daughter Kayla Burke and partner Ricardo of Newmarket; brother J. Arthur Carbonaro and wife Eleanor of Canterbury, CT; grandchildren Jacob, Camden, Dominic, Anahlyse, Jameson; nieces Christine Carbonaro of Longmeadow, MA and Cathy Carbonaro and husband Craig Oden of California.Services: A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29th from 2pm to 4pm at J. Verne Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St. Portsmouth, NH. A private burial will take place this spring. For online condolences, visit: www.jvwoodfuneralhome.com.
