Sula Kirk Beavers, 92, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away on March 11, 2026. A lifelong resident of Fort Oglethorpe, she was born and raised in Stevenson, Alabama. She was a longtime member of Parkway Baptist Church, where she belonged to the Golden Agers and the Fellowship Sunday School Class and served as a deacon’s wife for many years.
Sula was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde P. Beavers; her parents, John H. Kirk, Sr. and Ora Lee Steele Kirk; her sisters, Virginia Allison, Edna Perkins, and Emma Jean Moore; her brother, Kelsey A. Kirk; and her daughter-in-law, JoAnn McKelvey Beavers.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffery Beavers of Ringgold, Georgia, and Christopher Kirk Beavers of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia; her grandsons, Ryan Beavers of Chickamauga, Georgia, Chase (Caitlin) Beavers of Chickamauga, Georgia, and Logan (Allison) Beavers of Johnson City, Tennessee; her six great-grandchildren, Brantly Beavers, Kate Beavers, Mason Beavers of Chickamauga, Georgia, Jaydyn Johnston, Jayley Beavers, and Jaxtyn Beavers of Johnson City, Tennessee; her brother, J.W. Kirk Jr. (Joy) of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Betty Ann Kirk of Fort Oglethorpe; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sula took great joy in cooking, especially baking coconut cakes for family and friends. She also cherished her collection of dolls and found quiet pleasure in needlepoint. She leaves behind a loving family who will remember her gentle spirit and the warmth she brought to every gathering.
