Sue Hale

Virda Sue Hale, 82, of Rock, died on March 13, 2026. Born February 28, 1944, in Matoaka, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Taylor and Thelma Farmer Taylor.

Sue found quiet joy in gardening, fishing, and playing bingo, but nothing meant more to her than the time she spent with her grandchildren. She lived a steady, loving life centered on family and the simple pleasures she shared with those closest to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Hale; one son, Doug Hale; and six siblings, Eunice, Jean, Bernice, Roger, Geneva, and Pete.

She is survived by one son, Ernie Hale and wife Becky of Spanishburg; one granddaughter, Kenna Hale; one grandson, Dykota Hale and wife Tess; two great-grandsons, Jace Miller and Emry Hale; and two brothers, Robert Taylor of Rock and Junior Taylor of Bluefield.
