Sue Hager

Sue (Jones) Hager, age 81, of Kingman, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Franciscan Health Lafayette. Born in Clinton on December 30, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Zoma M. (Goff) Jones.

A 1962 graduate of Turkey Run High School, Sue married the love of her life, Donald C. Hager, in Rockville, Indiana. Together they built a loving life until Don’s passing in 2013. Sue worked for 27 years at General Electric and then spent 16 years as a seamstress at Steel Grip. A lifelong learner, she returned to Danville Area Community College to earn an associate’s degree in horticulture, nurturing a deep passion for flowers, gardening, and the natural world. She lovingly helped operate D&S Greenhouse, sharing her knowledge and love of plants with her community. Above all, family was the center of Sue’s world. She adored her daughters, cherished her sons-in-law, and took great pride in her grandchildren, supporting them at sporting events and gathering them close for meals and stories. Her beloved dog, Shorty, remained a constant and cherished companion.

Sue is survived by her daughters, Sue Ann (Robert) Davis and Dawn Ann (Tim) DePugh; her sister, Janet Lee; four grandsons, Nate, Nash, Robby (Hannah), and Corey (fiancé Taylor); and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Don.
